Major Requirements: Thirty-six (36) credit hours in Psychology and 20 credit hours in Ancillary Sciences
Core content
- General Psychology (PSY-P 103, 3 cr.) – prerequisite for all other Psychology courses
- Statistical Techniques (PSY-K 300, 3 cr.) – prerequisite: MATH M100, M117, or higher
- Methods of Experimental Psychology (PSY-P 211, 3 cr.) – carries intensive writing (IW) designation
- Introduction to Reading and Writing in Psychology (PSY-P 222, 3 cr.) – carries intensive writing (IW) designation
- 12 credits total; all core courses are prerequisites for capstone courses
Advanced content
- Three courses (9 cr.) in General Experimental Psychology
- Two courses (6 cr.) in Human Processes Psychology
- Two upper-level (300+) electives (6 cr.)
- 21 credits total
Capstone course
- Choose one capstone course (seminar, practicum, or laboratory options)
- All capstone course options carry intensive writing (IW) designation
- 3 credits total
Ancillary sciences
- Non-Psychology courses listed under the College of Arts and Sciences category Group IIIA at the 100 level or above
- Must include at least 6 credits at the 200+ level
- Must include at least 2 laboratory courses
